Touring the Colorado Capitol

We went back as a family to see the Capitol during the week so we could take a tour. It was fun and we got to go all the way up to the top and into the dome. After we had taken out tour, we went out into Denver again to explore. We saw the Rockies Stadium and the Union Station as well as other things along the way.

SKYLINE DRIVE

While down in Canon City visiting Nathan’s brother Phillip to get some dental work done, we went up to Skyline drive to see the dinosaur tracks. We had been there several times before, but now the kids are getting to an age where they have an understanding and interest in what it is they are looking at.



While we were up there I told Elaine that she was born in the hospital here. We could oversee the city from upthere. Of course this started up the conversation of "Mom did I come out of your tummy?" and "Did they have to cut you open?" so on and so forth.

During the evening we played games and let the kids enjoy seeing each other at Phillip's house. All in all a good time.

DOWNTOWN DENVER

We meet up with Julia and her kids outside the capitol in Denver to take a tour, but they aren't open on Saturday's like we were sure it had said online. Oh well. We still took pictures and then went down to the people's fair a block over. I LOVE FREEBIES. The kids had lots of fun and we won free admission coupons for the aquarium.


After we were done exploring the fair and extremely thirsty from all the walking and heat we went walking over to the 16th Street Mall where we purchased some drinks at Subway. There was no way we could afford to purchase drinks at the fair with it being $3 for a single bottle of water not big enough to quench the thirst and there was 9 of us too. The cool air conditioning and bathrooms gave us a nice break too. While at the outdoor mall we did some more exploring and picture taking (and cooling off in the water).

Family Campout at Stanley Lake in Colorado

After our campout with the Lewis family we went home and decided that since the car was already packed we would go camping again. First we would sleep in our beds for one night and take good showers!!! They had showers at Chatfield, but I had only packed a bar of soap. I know what was I thinking not bringing a razor or shampoo. Oh well.
Early the net morning we restocked on food and headed out to Stanley Lake. I told Nathan to go fish and the kids and I would set up camp again. After that was done we went down to the water to be by daddy.

I sure am glad I brought their buckets and shovels because it kept them entertained for hours.

Me and the kids would bring our meals down to the dock, so we could be by daddy while he fished. I just wished I had picked a campspot closer instead, so I wouldn't have to carry it all so far. The kids were having a great time together. SMILE AND SHOW ME SOME SIBLING LOVE!
